Kemin continues to strengthen its presence in the cosmetics market, this time in Europe with the addition of UK & Ireland distributor Adina.

Adina was chosen by Kemin to distribute the company’s natural personal care ingredients throughout Europe, following moves made to strengthen its presence in its native North American market.

The agreement was finalized in the hope that the expanded distribution will make Kemin ingredients more accessible to personal care product manufacturers looking for natural ingredients, in the region.

Kemin, a privately-owned bioscience company, entered the personal care market in March last year. The company leveraged its expertise in plant science to develop natural, plant-based functional and active ingredients for cosmetics, skin, hair and body care product manufacturers.

The three particular products focused on personal care are FloraGLO Lutein, Rosamox, and Lysofix.

FloraGLO Lutein is a natural antioxidant from marigold extract which can be used in topical applications for the skin and has photo-protective properties.

Rosamox is a natural antioxidant from a proprietary rosemary extract that prevents oxidative degradation of fats and oils. It is low in colour and odor, resulting in little impact to final formulations and is also a natural alternative to synthetic anti-oxidants.

Lysofix a natural emulsifier, extracted from soybeans, which keeps oil and water in emulsion. Lysofix can be used in cold processing and can stabilise high oil containing formulas utilising standard application rates.
