A comprehensive conference programme is set to reveal how the
microencapsulation of cosmetic formulations in textiles is set to
create a new industry niche.

The conference 'Innovation in Cosmetotexiles' will draw attention to technologies that are being developed by cosmetics companies to incorporate active cosmetic formulations into a range of clothing and other textiles to make them more functional. Organised by Cosmetic Valley, which represents key industry players present in Tours and surrounding areas South-west of Paris, the French language conference programme will tackle a number of key areas concerning the development, production and marketing of such materials. Tours evolves as a development centre The organisers claim that the region it represents is rapidly evolving as a centre of research and development for cosmetotextiles, thanks mainly to indepth research being carried out at the Francois Rabelais University, part of the University of Tours. Scientists there have been developing key technologies for the creation of active encapsulated ingredients that can be incorporated into textiles to provide moisturisation, anti-stress, anti-fatigue, anti-cellulite and micro-massaging properties. Held on May 15 in Tours, the programme will include around 15 leading experts in the field, who will be giving presentations on key areas that are spearheading the development of the technology. Five key presentations The event will be held at the Groupe Ecole Sup. de Commerce et Management Tours-Poitiers (ESCEM), in Tours. In all there will be five presentations, covering the market for intelligent textiles, the concept of cosmetotextiles, the effectiveness of cosmetotextiles, the regulation and certification of the category and future innovations in the area.
