The Chinese cosmetics industry is fast becoming the biggest skin care market in Asia. As the rest of the region plays catch-up, regulations on imported products have either become tighter or are changing fast in the country.
This can be challenging for the industry to keep up to date with, particularly Western based cosmetic companies attempting to break onto the region.
According to AQSIQ, beauty products must be listed among a catalog of imported goods produced by foreign registered companies with details of the original source.
