At this year’s SIMPPAR perfumery event in Grasse, IFF’s LMR Naturals division is launching a book to celebrate the legacy of its visionary founder Monique Remy.

As part of a celebration of LMR Naturals’ 40th anniversary, international fragrance ingredients company IFF is paying homage to the legacy of its visionary founder, Monique Remy.

At the world-renown trade exhibition SIMPPAR, which will take place on 28 – 29 May in Grasse, France, IFF will launch an exclusive book, L’Art du Naturel, which will take a retrospective look at Remy’s life and achievements.

LMR’s Naturals general manager, Bertrand de Préville, said that the business had been sustainable and respectful towards nature since it was founded four decades ago, thanks to the values of its founder.

“For instance, we secured the perfume industry’s first ever third-party certification of a natural supply chain in 2014 after launching the first collection of upcycled fragrance ingredients in 2013."

"Those were just two of many significant achievements. Today, as demand for natural ingredients spirals, LMR Naturals is well-positioned to serve a market driven by a consumer desire for quality, differentiation, and a commitment to sustainable choices.”

LMR Naturals is part of IFF’s fragrance business that fuses nature with technology to create a wide range of ingredients for the perfume, personal and home care markets.

Its access to IFF’s international sourcing and production network has boosted its production scale to an all-time high, yet the business said that it still holds its core values of being sustainable and respecting all stakeholders in its supply chain.

LMR Naturals is now set on further improving its environmental footprint via close partnerships with global suppliers, while its R&D team is exploring “the potential of its recently developed sustainable extraction solvents to unlock every sensory wonder the natural world has to offer.”

“Even at a time that the industry was moving away from pure naturals, LMR advocated the power and beauty of nature,” said de Préville.

“Monique remains an inspiration to us all, and our carefully curated book, L’Art du Naturel is a demonstration of that. It showcases the work and the legacy of a fierce entrepreneur who was undoubtedly a visionary ahead of her time.”

“The Art of Naturals, Monique Remy and 40 years of natural ingredients” is published by Nez Editions, and will be available in French from 27 May, and in English from 26 June.
