The Center for Professional Advancement (CfPA) is holding an online training course giving the low-down for cosmetics players wanting to enter the China cosmetics market.

The course targets professionals in the cosmetics and personal care arena, as we well as providers of over the counter products in all aspects of product development that are specific to one of the world’s fastest growing markets.

Professionals that are most likely to be interested by the 90 minute long accredited training are those involved in the areas of research and development, technology, formulation and product development, marketing and technical sales, together with those involved in regulatory affairs, quality control and general decision makers.

International brands have kudos in China

What is a particularly attractive reason for foreign cosmetic companies to enter the China market is the fact that Chinese consumers particularly value international brands, even more so if they are targeting the luxury and premium segments.

Although growth in the China market has started to slow down in the past year or so, low average penetration levels and a population hovering around the 1.2 billion mark still spell huge growth potential.

Despite the economic growth slowing towards the end of the year, the country’s economy still grew at 8.9 per cent in the last quarter of 2011, while growth within the cosmetics and personal care category still continues into double digit figures.

China remains a difficult market to penetrate

Although the enticements of international brand status and the breakneck growth rates, China remains a difficult market to penetrate, particularly for small-to-medium foreign companies with limited resources.

The course has been designed to address the specific challenges that such companies might face, and is split into three basic modules: Status & Outlook for The China Cosmetic Market; Overview of the Chinese Cosmetic Legislation; and Import into China.

The first module will give a basic overview of the market, while the second will look into the regulatory framework and substantiation claims and the third module will take an in depth look at the importing process, including inspection and certification.

The single rate for joining the seminar is $295 (Euros 225), while a discounted group rate of $245 also exists. For more information click here.
