Intertek has announced that new regulatory requirements and heightened emphasis on quality control along supply chain management strategies will directly affect the health, beauty and cosmetics industry on a global level.

It will address these issues, as well as advances and strategies for safety and sustainability solutions, during the HBA Global Expo 2010, Sept. 28-30, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Hosting two seminars

The solution provider will host two educational seminars, to inform the industry about solutions for REACH, the new EU Cosmetics Directive and other regulatory requirements, as well as for clinical research; product safety, efficacy and claims; toxicology risk assessment; safety data sheet (SDS) authoring; classification and labeling; sustainability solutions; quality assurance; and packaging solutions.

The first seminar will be presented by Shawn Blenis, Environmental Services Manager, NAFTA, and will be entitled: “Benchmarking, Integrating and Defining Life Cycle Analysis with Global Sustainability Trends.”

Blenis will address all aspects of the life cycle of a beauty product, from raw material to production, distribution and end-of-life phases.

The second seminar will be called “Trends in European Regulations,” and will be presented by Emilie Cornillot, Health and Beauty Project Manager. This session will deliver valuable information required to sell health and beauty products in Europe.

The seminars will take place on 28 September and 30 September respectively as part of HBA’s “20 Tips on Technical Design that Takes Advantage of Customer Trends”
