Loser - Shaving and hair removal
We have all noticed the beard trend that has swept the UK and other parts of Europe, and it seems the fashion for facial hair on men has continued into 2015, resulting in a continuance in deflated sales in the shaving and hair removal markets.
The hygiene-oriented markets have suffered most from consumers’ desire to find the cheapest prices, with promotional offers, discounts and other savvy shopping habits keeping spending at a minimum.
The shaving and hair removal markets are also threatened by the increasing availability of long-term hair removal options such as intense pulsed light (IPL) and laser devices, according to Mintel.
“In 2015 brands including Tria Beauty have launched at-home laser hair removal devices. If more adults invest in these long-lasting options, sales declines will continue in the category long-term.”
