Attending a press briefing from the company at the show, CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com met with the company’s new business unit head.
The German firm’s new Head of Personal Care, Dr Tammo Boinowitz addressed the room of journalist to share Evonik’s outlook and the new innovations being launched at the show.
“Evonik Personal Care has a new management and strategy in place and is essentially like a new business. Our key focus is on groundbreaking innovations, like we have at the show, combined with competitive offers – which is what is expected of ingredients suppliers nowadays,” he said.
Sustainability and sensory properties were highlighted as the key areas for Evonik at the 2015 trade show, and were the driving force behind the company’s new concept formulations and processes to optimise costs on its emulsifiers.
This has seen well-established natural based emulsifiers, TEGO Care PSC 3 and ISOLAN GPS, as well as TEGO Care PBS 6, a recently launched versatile PEG-free O/W emulsifier, evaluated.
“This new concept will help formulators to expand their formulation and process flexibility by using efficient natural emulsifiers,” says Evonik.
With so many new formulations available, Evonik says that the market is getting tremendously complex and one of the challenges for formulators is to be familiar with the enormous amount of choices available, as parameters like sustainability and registration have to be taken into consideration to find the right product.
To facilitate the search for new ingredients which fulfil customer requirements the German supplier is launching a new selection tool for emulsifiers.
This online tool allows chemists to navigate through the complex world of emulsifiers and to easily pick out the product which fits best their needs.
“In today’s digital world this new launched Emulsifier Selection Tool will help formulators to quickly and easily select the right emulsifier for their special requirements,” says a company statement.
