Bluestar Silicones adds two new hair care ingredients to Mirasil range
A spokesperson for the company explained to Cosmetics Design that within the Mirasil range, Mirasil ADM-E 235C is the first cationic emulsion of Amodimethicone for hair conditioners.
It is claimed to strengthen the conditioning effect of conditioners and hair lotions, and according to the company, can help hair care products meet consumer demands such as ease of conditioning and protection against external elements.
High performance conditioning agent
Meanwhile, Mirasil ADMH-E 125 is the first transparent microemulsion of HALS silicone (Propoxytetramethylpiperidinyl dimethicone) for clear shampoos, the spokesperson said.
A high-performance conditioning agent in terms of deposit of product on the hair, the ingredient is based on original, patented technology. According to Bluestar Silicones, it is effective in protecting the color of dyed hair thanks to its thermal resistance and capacity to absorb free radicals resulting from environmental stresses and UV exposure.
In tests, a product containing Mirasil ADMH-E125 was shown to exhibit increased antioxidant capabilities and absorption of free radicals in comparison to a similar product that did not contain the ingredient.
Like all products in the Mirasil range, both Mirasil ADME 235C and Mirasil ADMH-E125 are hypoallergenic, non-cytotoxic and non-irritant for skin and eyes so as to meet consumer safety requirements.
Comprehensive range
Gilles Lorentz, Bluestar Silicones’ business development manager for personal care, said that these new launches help the company strengthen its position as a key partner for cosmetics players.
“After two high-impact innovations presented last year, these two new products further strengthen our position as a front-line partner to professionals from the cosmetic sector, and in particular hair care,” he said.

Back at in-cosmetics 2012, Bluestar Silicones launched Mirasil Bright and Mirasil ADMH B100, ingredients that are designed to enhance the anti-age effects and shine of cosmetic products.
