Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions claims that visitors numbers for the first day of the event were up 42 percent and packed aisles were a testament to this claim.

Opening its doors yesterday, Wednesday the conference organizer claims that 4,790 visitors passed through its doors on the first day, making the event significantly bigger than last year’s show in Shanghai.

Further evidence that the show is gaining in kudos amongst industry professionals was stressed by the fact that 15 of the show exhibitors have chosen to launch a total of 15 ingredients at the event.

One such ingredients player promoting two newly launched ingredient at the show was Lucas Meyer, which was platforming its latest active ingredients Elix-IR and Phytenso.

Elix-IR is claimed to be the first botanical active ingredient designed to fight what the company has specifically termed as Infra’aging, which is also known as infrared-induced skin ageing from infrared radiation and known to be the cause of photoageing.

Christine Desy, Lucas Meyer’s global commercial director, told Cosmetics Design Asia that she thought the show had grown tremendously, stating her belief that the number of visitors to her stand was significantly higher than the first day of the previous year.

PCHi set to be biggest show in Asia?

“I think this event is likely to continue to go from strength to strength,” she said. “In fact, I would not be at all surprised if it soon became the biggest industry event of its kind in Asia.”

James Yang, market development manager for Purac China added to the positive reception for the show by stating his belief that “the quality of the show is really levelling up.”

“This morning our booth hosted a steady stream of company representatives, with many of those companies turning out to be businesses that still do not have a presence in the China market and want to get a foothold established.”

Dates for PCHi 2014…

In addition, Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions also shared details about the 2014 edition of PCHi, which will be held from 19 to 21 February, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.

Building on the success and excitement concerning PCHi 2013, the organizer says it expects to receive even more personal care industry players next year.

Perhaps an indication that Reed is not being overly optimistic in its predictions for next year was provided by the fact that a large queue formed at the sales office to book for next year from early morning.
