France-based Minasolve, owned by the Manafin group, has launched two new bio-ingredients for skin care, derived from vegetable origin (gall nuts), which have been approved by Eco-Cert.

The first ingredient is Minacare Elage, a whitening agent with a special cosmetic grade of 98 per cent. It is found naturally occurring in berries; the INCI name is Ellagic acid.

The second ingredient is Minacare Galace, which is an anti-oxidant; extracted from gall nuts, it has an INCI name of Gallic acid.

A global phenomenon, skin whitening is a practice which traditionally used chemical substances to lighten the skin tone or provide an even complexion, by decreasing the concentration of melanin.
