Tennis star Andy Roddick has signed an exclusive license agreement
with Parlux Fragrances to launch a signature fragrance under his
own name. Parlux expects to launch the fragrance before spring 2006
and it is said that Roddick will play a creative role in the
product development.

Roddick, who has a big international following, both on and off the tennis courts, has already signed a number of major sponsorship deals to promote leading sports and luxury brands.

Roddick said that he was looking forward to being involved with the development of the fragrance, adding that he hoped it would reflect his own individuality.

Ilia Lekach, CEO of Parlux, said, "Andy is an extremely charismatic young man with superb athletic ability. His poise and magnetism attract a growing following of U.S. and international fans on and off the tennis court."

Donald Dell, Roddick's marketing advisor said, "This is a solid indication that Andy Roddick's popularity and reach transcend tennis on a global level."

Parlux Fragrances is a manufacturer and international distributor of prestige fragrances and holds the licenses to manufacture and distribute the designer fragrance brands of Perry Ellis, GUESS, Paris Hilton, Maria Sharapova, Ocean Pacific (OP), and Fred Hayman Beverly Hills.

News of the agreement comes in the same week that Estee Lauder has revealed the run away success of its Britney Spears endorsed perfume, Curious. The perfume has proved to be the number one seller in the US during the all-important run up to Christmas.

Further more Curious has also proved to be the number one selling product for online sales giant Amazon.com, giving further credence to industry experts predictions that the internet is rapidly turning into an invaluable sales platform for fragrance manufacturers.
