A line of packaging has been developed by FiberMark, a US
manufacturer of speciality, fibre-based materials for exclusive
application in the cosmetics industry.

Described as a "customizable" line of decorative packaging, the product - Fiori CORVON - is manufactured using latex saturated paper, which, according to the manufacturers, "evokes freshness, elegance and femininity for packaging that resonates with cosmetics consumers."

Commenting on the relevance and importance of the product to the cosmetics industry, vice president of FiberMark's strategic packaging business unit, Gary Baker, explains that, "cosmetics designers have voiced an interest in packaging materials that create the same strong impact with softer, more feminine colours and textures".

The Fiori collection can also be used for a number of cosmetics packaging solutions, including secondary packaging, gift sets, limited collector's editions, and packaging "designed for long-term reuse".

The FiberMark product saves manufacturers considerable research and design expenditure as it can be produced in short runs - giving manufacturers the opportunity to create realistic prototypes for test marketing.

The "added value" nature of the product is of particular importance to the cosmetics packaging sector as it gives product designers packaging that captures a brand's unique personality, differentiating it from the increasingly crowded cosmetics market.

According to FiberMark, the decorative materials in the Fiori line of products can be customized with a wide range of print patterns, textures, and delicate embossing techniques.

Furthermore, the CORVON Fiori product is also compatible with a wide variety of manufacturing and secondary processes, including die-cutting, post-embossing, silk screening, and foil stamping.
