Speciality chemicals company Cognis has launched the next generation of its product concept for skin care - the Polymoist Mask based on the active ingredient collagen.

Using a refined technology, the new mask offers a a higher tensile strength in dry as well as wet conditions. In a dry state, the product has a velvety hand and is softer on the skin than before, claims the company. Through contact with water or an active ingredient solution, the mask is activated and 'feels like a cooling and relaxing second skin'.

'We keep the natural character of the product by not adding preservatives and fragrances - therefore, the soft, velvety mask is suitable for every skin type. The treatment is especially comfortable for sensitive and stressed skin, for example after hair removal or sunbathing," said Ute Griesbach, global marketing manager beauty care at Cognis.

According to the company, popular additional ingredients to the Polymoist Mask include Aloe Vera, vitamin C and marine DNA for stressed skin. Also recently available is a variant with an extract from green tea which aims to relieve stress and protect the skin.
