Key takeaways on the newest beauty tech innovations
- The latest wave of beauty tech showcases advanced AI, sensor-based wearables and personalised diagnostic tools.
- Brands are combining light therapy, data analytics and smart packaging to elevate consumer skincare, colour cosmetics and haircare results.
- Customisation continues to accelerate, with devices that formulate products on demand and fine-tune treatments in real time.
As the beauty industry continues to become more tech-savvy, we explore some of the most exciting new tech we’ve recently seen…
1. Loox AI-powered UV and light tracking wearable
US-based Loox Health Inc. has created what it claims is the world’s first AI-powered UV and light-tracking wearable.
The device was inspired by studies confirming that more than 80% of visible skin ageing is caused by sun exposure and has three core functions: tracking daily UV and light exposure; detecting hidden UV exposure; and providing live UV and light measurements.
According to Anna Mayer from Loox, the pendant is designed to give users real-time information on whether they are getting too much sun exposure or, conversely, not enough.
Mayer said the team has been working on the Loox Pendant for the last two years and went through four generations of prototypes before fitting all the components into a compact, user-friendly shape. “The greatest challenge is combining light and UV sensors data in a meaningful way to give the user simple actionable guidance on how to protect their skin,” she explained.

2. Nuon Medical tech-integrated packaging
Nuon Medical recently introduced a beauty tech innovation, the Secondary Applicator – Touch-Activated Red Light Device, which the company said is a response to growing demand for smart minis.
The portable tool is designed for precision application and combines red light therapy, vibration support, and a scoop-integrated design for hygienic product pickup and targeted skincare application.

3. L’Oréal Light Straight + Multi-styler
At CES 2026, French multinational L’Oréal showcased its new Light Straight + Multi-styler, which uses patented infrared light technology to style hair at lower temperatures, reducing damage to hair health. The device features glass plates that straighten hair at a much lower temperature compared to most traditional straighteners.
According to instrumental tests conducted by L’Oréal, the styler works three times faster and leaves hair twice as smooth compared to premium hair stylers. The handheld device uses near-infrared light – a wavelength just beyond the visible light spectrum that penetrates deeply into hair fibres – to reshape internal hydrogen bonds, helping preserve the hair’s natural cuticle for smoother, shinier and stronger results.
“Light Straight + Multi-styler moves hairstyling beyond correction into prevention,” explained Guive Balooch, Global Vice President of Augmented Beauty and Open Innovation at L’Oréal Group. “Limiting cumulative heat exposure to help preserve the integrity of natural hair from the start, we’re enabling consumers to protect their hair now and for the future. We believe this innovation sets a new standard in precision styling, not just upgrading, but redefining the entire hairstyling category.”

4. Cosmax Maxspace
Korean contract manufacturer Cosmax’s Maxspace device creates customised beauty products such as skincare, base makeup and liquid lip products.
The technology was developed with Professor Kim Ho-young at Seoul National University and allows for a variety of physical properties and colour combinations.
5. CERAGEM AI Rejuvenation Shower System
The AI-driven shower system uses near-infrared and spectral sensors to analyse skin hydration, oil levels, elasticity and pigmentation in real time.
It then analyses this data and adjusts water pH through electrolysis, softens water via ion exchange, and dispenses personalised blends of vitamins and skincare actives during the shower.

6. LG Household & Health Care Hyper Rejuvenating Eye Patch
At CES 2026, LG Household & Health Care showcased its Hyper Rejuvenating Eye Patch. The wearable device integrates proprietary skin-diagnosis technology with customised ingredient delivery and light therapy to analyse individual ageing patterns and provide personalised treatment.

7. iPolish, Inc. Press-On Smart Nails
iPolish’s digital manicure uses press-on acrylic nails that change colour instantly when exposed to an electric charge. Users can select from around 400 colours via a mobile interface, and the nails update within seconds using a rechargeable wand.

8. Amorepacific x Samsung AI Beauty Mirror
At CES 2026, Amorepacific showcased its AI-powered skin analysis technology, integrated into Samsung Electronics’ AI Beauty Mirror. Using camera-based optical diagnostics, the technology assesses pore condition, redness, pigmentation and wrinkles, then recommends personalised skincare solutions based on a dataset of more than 450,000 cases.
Results from the analysis are incorporated into skincare solutions provided by makeON’s ONFACE LED Mask, equipped with 3,770 micro red LEDs, and the Skin Light Therapy 3S – a personalised skincare device for daily use that offers immediate improvements in skin condition.

9. L’Oréal LED Face Mask
L’Oréal also recently introduce the development of an LED Face Mask for targeted skincare. The ultra-thin, flexible silicone mask – currently in prototype form – delivers light directly to the face. Developed with iSmart, a global leader in LED device innovation, the mask is designed to combat visible signs of ageing such as fine lines, sagging and uneven tone through targeted red light and near-infrared light.
The company believes the key to the mask’s effectiveness is its transparent support, which integrates a skin-safe microcircuit to precisely control the emission of two selected wavelengths of light – red light (630 nm) and near-infrared light (830 nm) – each of which works to visibly firm and smooth skin while evening skin tone.

10. Lancôme Renergie Nano-Resurfacer
Inspired by microneedling, the Nano-Resurfacer uses silicon nanochips to create millions of micro-channels in the stratum corneum without puncturing the skin. When the technology is paired with Lancôme’s H.C.F. Triple Serum, the device claims to deliver significantly improved resurfacing results.

11. Kolmar Korea Scar Beauty Device
The device combines scar treatment and cosmetic coverage in a simple 10-minute process. It uses AI to classify scars into types and then dispense a customised dermatological treatment using one of 180 skin-tone-matched powder pigments.
According to Kolmar Korea, with this device, both treatment and cosmetic coverage can be achieved simultaneously in just 10 minutes.
