Called Healthy Renew, the range comprises a trio of products catering to people who are just starting on pre-ageing care.
“Consumer awareness around pre-ageing is growing steadily, particularly among women in their late 20s to early 30s who are starting to notice early signs such as uneven texture, dullness, and fine lines. Many are becoming more proactive, seeking products that not only prevent visible signs of ageing but also support overall skin health.
“In the sensitive skin care space, there is an increasing demand for formulations that are gentle yet effective, bridging the gap between prevention and protection,” Regina Heng, Brand Manager of Cetaphil, told CosmeticsDesign-Asia.
While many people associate ageing with wrinkles, studies have shown that sensitive skin is more vulnerable to environmental aggressors like UV exposure, pollution, and even stress — factors that can accelerate ageing.
Although traditional retinoids deliver powerful anti-ageing effects, they can also cause irritation, redness and flaking, especially for those with sensitive skin.
“Sensitive skin has a compromised barrier, making it more prone to irritation, redness, and inflammation. Standard anti-ageing ingredients, such as high-strength acids or retinol, can worsen these issues. That’s why sensitive skin needs formulations that protect and strengthen the skin barrier while supporting natural skin renewal.
“The Healthy Renew range meets this need by incorporating gentle yet effective ingredients, including a retinol alternative, so consumers with sensitive skin can benefit from anti-ageing care without compromising on results, comfort nor safety.”
Guardians of youthful skin
The Healthy Renew range consists of an Eye Serum, Facial Serum, and Day Cream SPF 30, which have been clinically tested on sensitive skin to ensure safety and efficacy.
Unlike other Cetaphil ranges that focus on hydration, soothing or cleansing, this new line targets the pre-ageing phase by combining barrier-friendly ingredients with natural bioactivity to boost collagen and rejuvenate the skin.
Specifically, the products are formulated with key ingredients including purified peptides, edelweiss and rice less extracts, and vitamins B3 (niacinamide) and B5 (panthenol).
Peptides are naturally occurring chains of amino acids that act as messengers to the skin, triggering the production of collagen and elastin — the fibres that give skin its bounce and firmness. The peptides in Healthy Renew are claimed to be purified for precision and stability, offering targeted anti-ageing benefits while being gentle enough for sensitive skin.
Touted as the “flower of eternal youth”, edelweiss is a resilient Alpine bloom that thrives in harsh conditions. It is packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that help protect skin from free radical damage while soothing irritation.
A by-product of sake fermentation, rice lees extract is a nutrient-rich ingredient that contains amino acids, antioxidants, and B vitamins that brighten, hydrate and smooth the skin, improving tone and texture.
Simultaneously, niacinamide and panthenol work to restore moisture, reduce redness, and strengthen the skin’s natural barrier, making them ideal for sensitive, ageing skin.
According to certified dermatologist Dr Kong Yan Ling, purified peptides are particularly effective for individuals with sensitive skin who are beginning their pre-ageing routine.
“They stimulate collagen production to improve firmness and elasticity, while remaining gentle and well-tolerated compared to traditional retinol. When combined with botanical extracts such as edelweiss and rice lees, they help deliver visible improvements in skin texture, suppleness and radiance, without compromising the skin barrier.”
The Healthy Renew range is currently available in the US, Australia, Brazil, Hong Kong, and Singapore, with plans to expand into additional Asian markets.
