Inside the latest hair care launches and technologies

Ahead of our special broadcast, we uncover some of the most exciting recent NPD in the hair care category…

Neutrogena Hair Restore Range

Skin and body care brand Neutrogena is entering a new category with its latest launch: a five-product range developed with dermatologists. It has been formulated with skin actives that support hair growth and scalp health.

Neutrogena’s parent company, Kenvue, is also accompanying the launch with a clinical study to test its efficacy.

Products include a Triple Action Scalp Detox Cleanser, which resets the scalp for growth while boosting circulation; Advanced Growth Support Serum, which uses the brand’s proprietary Micro-Peptide XP to restore hair density and reduce shedding; and Pro-Collagen Peptide Supplement, a powdered drink supplement that supports the body’s natural production of collagen to promote thicker hair.

Amika Hydro Rush Intense Moisture Leave-In Conditioner

A leave-in conditioner that claims to keep hair hydrated for up to 72 hours. The formula has been created with skincare favourite ingredient hyaluronic acid, along with coconut water, and it’s also silicone-free and safe for colour-treated hair.

Color Wow Texas Hold ‘Em Big Hold Hairspray

After its acquisition by the L’Oréal Group, Color Wow continues to think beyond the current limits of the category and venture into new sectors. Its new humidity-proof hairspray contains 50% less alcohol than typical formulas. It also promises 82% style retention in high humidity and requires less product for strong hold.

LolaVie Exfoliate & Detox Scalp Shampoo

This weekly-use scalp detox shampoo focuses on soothing scalp irritation and removing dead skin cells and product residue. The cruelty-free, vegan brand, which was founded by Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston, claims the product can boost hydration and balance the scalp. It uses charcoal and gentle AHAs to detox the scalp, and the formulation is packed with vegetable ceramides, B vitamins, and pea peptides.

Charlotte Mensah Manketti Oil Haircare Range

As we see more innovation in the space for Afro and mixed-race hair types, London hairdresser Charlotte Mensah’s award-winning premium line continues to lead the charge with efficacious products that look and feel luxurious to use. The formula features sustainably sourced oils like argan and Ximenia – a natural oil from a tree found in the African savannah – to deeply nourish dehydrated, damaged hair.

Glowwa Hair Supplements

Ingestible beauty brand GLOWWA was founded by a nutrition expert and is now sold in over 2,000 salons across the UK, with high-profile hairdresser ambassadors including Zoe Irwin and Errol Douglas.

GLOWWA bridges professional and consumer markets, bringing ingestibles directly into salons – a distribution model still relatively new in the supplements category. The formulations support not just hair, but skin health, hormonal balance, and overall wellbeing. The range includes Hair Food, which features biotin, B vitamins, zinc and MSM, along with a special menopause supplement, men’s hair supplements and a ‘collagen creamer’ that claims to reduce fine lines, boost hydration, improve hair structure, and support joint, gut, and bone health after 30 days of use.

A lightweight leave-in tonic formulated with fumaria, traditionally used for eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis, as well as swertia japonica extracts, which are said to make hair grow faster, plus antioxidants. According to Moroccanoil, the formulation hydrates and creates an optimal environment for thicker, fuller hair growth.
