What is the “Inclusive Designer” label and why it matters

APF France handicap advocates for the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities. Its innovation department, the TechLab, specialises in inclusive design and supports companies in developing more accessible products and services by involving people with disabilities and seniors directly in the design process.

The “Inclusive Designer” label was created in collaboration with the Technology for Change Chair at Institut Polytechnique de Paris to explore how companies integrate innovation, inclusion, and sustainability into design.

Following a rigorous audit of the tools and methods deployed in inclusive innovation, the TechLab awarded Aptar Beauty Level 1 certification under this label.

The certification confirms that the company meets a high standard of inclusivity in the design of its products and services, primarily by involving individuals with reduced mobility, disabilities, and seniors early in the creative process.

“Inclusive design is central to our innovation strategy. As part of our partnership with APF France handicap, we integrate universal design principles into our development processes to create solutions accessible to all,” explained Marie Jacquemin, Global Consumer Insights & Ideation Manager at Aptar Beauty.
