Sought-after cosmetic dermatologist Dr Simon Ourian, whose clientele includes celebrities such as the Kardashian-Jenner family and Lady Gaga, has collaborated with Finnish tech company Revieve to create a “world-first” innovation.
The Dr Simon Ourian M.D. brand previously launched similar personalised concepts for topical skincare products and supplements. This new launch combines both — merging topical skincare and nutrition for a personalised, holistic, inside-out approach to skin health.
The innovation will be available across several European countries, including France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.
Tech company Revieve developed the personalised advisor, which uses selfie-based diagnostics, over 100 skin health markers, and lifestyle data to deliver tailored skincare and supplement routines within minutes.
According to Revieve’s CEO, Sampo Parkkinen, the collaboration began in late 2024 with the vision of making Dr Ourian’s expertise accessible to consumers through technology.
“We’ve co-created an industry-first solution that bridges external and internal care, offering personalised skincare and supplement recommendations in one seamless journey,” he explained.
Personalisation is now essential for beauty brands
Parkkinen emphasised that personalisation is no longer a ‘nice to have’ for beauty brands and retailers. Instead, “it’s a business imperative,” he said.
“It drives conversion, increases average order value, and provides rich consumer insights that support both product development and long-term strategy,” he continued.
“More importantly, it builds trust, loyalty, and emotional connection because consumers now expect a higher level of relevance and intelligence in every digital interaction.”
The experience is powered by Revieve’s proprietary AI platform, which combines advanced computer vision, machine learning, and clinically backed personalisation logic.
“By analysing over 200 skin health metrics from a selfie, paired with inputs on lifestyle, wellness goals, and behavioural patterns, the platform generates highly customised skincare and nutrition recommendations,” Parkkinen explained.
Users answer personalised questions about their sleep, water intake, energy levels, lifestyle habits, and health goals. They also have the option to upload a selfie and, within minutes, receive a personalised skincare and nutrition routine tailored to their individual profile.
The recommendations combine Dr Simon Ourian M.D.’s dermatological expertise with evidence-based wellness insights.
Beauty and wellness “becoming inseparable”
According to Parkkinen, beauty and wellness are becoming inseparable.
“We’re witnessing a fundamental shift in how consumers define beauty,” he said.
“It’s no longer just about flawless skin or the right product—it’s about feeling good, inside and out. Consumers are increasingly aware that their skin health reflects their overall well-being: nutrition, sleep, stress levels, hydration, even emotional health.”
Regarding the future of this movement, Parkkinen believes the next wave of evolution will bring deeper integrations between skincare, nutrition, and mental wellness.
“Think AI that doesn’t just analyse your skin, but understands your circadian rhythms, hormonal patterns, and stress triggers—and recommends personalised routines that evolve with you.”
He added that we are moving towards proactive, precision self-care—where beauty is no longer a category, but part of a person’s full health ecosystem.
He also highlighted the growing demand for credibility and scientific validation.
“The days of one-size-fits-all beauty advice are over,” he said. “The future lies in combining medical-grade insight with intuitive technology, so users feel empowered to make smart decisions for their own body and goals.”
“People now have more data, more options, and more awareness than ever before. They know that what works for one person might not work for them—and they’re looking for brands and tools that recognise that individuality,” he concluded.
