In February 2024, Mibelle’s parent company Migros announced that it intended to find a new owner for the group with a strategic direction that was a better fit for its global growth strategy.
The new owner, Spanish company Persán S.A. has acquired the entire Mibelle Group, which includes cosmetics ingredients supplier Mibelle Biochemistry, but not the group’s former South Korean subsidiary, Gowoonsesang (owner of derma skin care brand Dr. G), as this was bought by L’Oréal in January 2025.
Mibelle Group said that the acquisition includes “all legal entities that form the Mibelle Group, all supplier and customer contracts, as well as all employee contracts”.
Aligned growth strategies
Persán is headquartered in Seville and is an 80-year-old, family-owned business. It’s one of the largest manufacturers of home care products in Europe and produces products in Spain, France and Poland.
In recent years, the Spanish company has embarked on international expansion and also started to build its presence in the personal care sector.
Mibelle Group said that the acquisition fits perfectly in Persán’s future growth strategy and that the two companies complement each other very well in terms of expertise, technology, markets and production sites.
“We are continuing all our existing activities to provide our customers with the best products and services. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of April,” said a spokesperson at Mibelle Group.
“We are certain that we will remain a strong and reliable partner for our suppliers and other partners under the ownership of a successful and established industry expert like Persán.”
