The co-founder of skin care brand Dr. PawPaw will join 60 other female business leaders for a challenging rally across India to raise funds for women and girls.

As part of the Sisterhood Group Rickshaw Rally 2025, co-founder of Dr. PawPaw Pauline Paterson will join a group of female founders to drive a rickshaw 1,000km across India to raise funds for International Women’s Day.

The money raised will be donated to grassroots charities that support women and girls in India.

The five-day rally, which kicks off in Chennai on 6 March and finishes in Goa on 11 March, will see the women navigate treacherous roads, unpredictable weather and chaotic traffic.

The group has a mission to raise £350,000, which will be used to:

  • Build safer classrooms: constructing weatherproof, functional schools to improve education access for girls and for children with disabilities.
  • Give skills training for women: providing training in nursing, IT, and trade skills to help women achieve financial independence.
  • Offer maternal health support: addressing postpartum anaemia and complications through medical care, nutrition, and vital resources for vulnerable mothers.

To identify the projects that will receive the funds the Sisterhood Group has teamed up with Ladies Circle India and Round Table India. The women will also be visiting these projects in Chennai before the race starts.

The group has already raised over £66,000, and with one more week to go before the rally, they’re now calling on supporters to help them reach their ambitious target of £350,000.

Speaking about the upcoming fundraiser, Paterson said: “The great thing about this rally is that this International Women’s Day we will be actually saving lives and changing lives instead of just talking about it!”

“When I founded Dr. PawPaw, my vision was always to build a brand that gives back.”

She continued: “As we grow, it’s essential that we continue supporting the communities we reach. When the opportunity to support women in India came up, it felt like a natural next step, especially as we’ve just launched into this market.”
