Jo Malone x Paddington collab
Estée Lauder Companies’ Jo Malone London has launched a collaboration with literary and film character Paddington™ Bear, with a new range of limited-edition scented gifts based around the fictional bear’s favourite snack, orange marmalade.
The brand said the Orange Marmalade cologne blends warm woods with orange zest to “create a marvellous, golden fragrance.”
There are also four limited-edition gift collections, including one in special trunk design, inspired by Paddington's suitcase.
The brand’s global president Jo Dancey said: "Paddington conjures up cherished memories of fun-filled summer trips by train, exploring the British countryside and coastline – always with a picnic in tow. And when it comes to our Orange Marmalade Cologne, really there was no other choice of partner we'd rather share our scent with, or marmalade sandwich, come to that."
Meanwhile EVP Kids Brands StudioCanal & CEO The Copyrights Group Françoise Guyonnet said it was “exciting to see both brands coming together to celebrate British heritage, as well as the shared values of kindness and generosity, in a campaign that captures Paddington's essence so beautifully."
Celine further expands into cosmetics
LVMH-owned fashion brand Celine is continuing its expansion into luxury beauty and personal care, with a new range created by the brand’s art director, fashion designer Hedi Slimane.
Last year the brand launched perfumed body oil, bar hand soaps and bath milk, while this autumn it plans to launch liquid hand soaps, hand creams and body milk. These will be available in the Parada, La Peau Neu, Reptile and Cologne Céleste fragrances.
It will also branch out into hair mists, which will be available in the Parade, Reptile and Black Tie scents.
The brand recently expanded into colour cosmetics too and is set to launch a lipstick Rouge Triomph in autumn 2024, followed by more cosmetic products in January 2025.
Eucerin partners with Mandy Moore
Beiersdorf’s derma skin care brand Eucerin has partnered with the actress, singer-songwriter, and mother Mandy Moore to launch a new campaign: ‘Expect More with Eucerin’.
As part of the collaboration, the duo has created a series of videos and social media posts to show Eucerin's commitment to dermatological science and how it can help consumers develop better and simpler skin care routines to tackle skin issues.
Moore, who has two sons and is now expecting another baby, said she focuses on quality over quantity when it comes to skin care. Particularly as she has sensitive skin and has previously suffered with eczema.
“Between my kids, my life as an actress and singer-songwriter, and everything else in my day-to-day life, I don’t want an overly complicated 15-step process. To me, it’s about finding the most effective products for my skin,” she explained.
Ren Clean Skincare’s CEO steps down
Ren Clean Skincare’s CEO Michelle Brett has stepped down and is set to transition to a new role within Unilever Prestige, where she already had ongoing commitments to the wider portfolio of prestige brands.
This is the second recent change to senior management at Unilever Prestige.
In mid-June the company’s founding CEO Vasiliki Petrou stepped down after building the business since 2014. Petrou had overseen the acquisition of 10 brands for a portfolio that saw €1.4bn of turnover in 2023 and 13 consecutive quarters of growth.
