From a launch inspired by the smash hit Barbie movie to hair, lip, and lash care and more, this month’s Launch Pad is packed with product launches to celebrate the sizzling summer months.

Laguna Herbals launches skin care collection featuring Vegan Eye Balm  

Founded by certified herbalist Andrea Sands, indie skin care brand Laguna Herbals is making a splash with its marine ingredient inspired collections of serums, moisturizers, masks, creams, and cleansers. Its latest launch, a line of algae-infused sea-based skin care products, includes the brand’s newest product, Laguna Herbals Vegan Eye Balm.  

The eye balm, which is formulated with natural ingredients like sunflower, safflower, and grapeseed oils as well as chamomile, rose, and calendula, is safe to use on the entire eye area to moisturize and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Additionally, the balm doubles as a gentle yet effective makeup remover to reduce puffiness and will not sting the eye area.  

Laguna Herbals Vegan Eye Balm, and the rest of the skin care collection launch, is available on the company’s website​ and the balm retails for $65.  

Lifestyle brand MINISO releases MINISO x Barbie collection  

Aligning with the recent release of the highly anticipated Barbie movie, lifestyle brand MINISO has launched its MINISO x Barbie collection of hair care and makeup tools with a pop of iconic Barbie pink. The collection includes a MINISO x Barbie eyelash curler, hairbrush, eyebrow razor, travel makeup bag, cosmetics case, and a makeup headband and claw clip.  

The exclusive launch, which is only available in-store at four MINISO locations across the US, has “received an enthusiastic response from consumers, leading to a significant increase in store sales of approximately 30% on its first day of release​,” according to a recent company press release. “It is also set to gradually roll out in global markets in the second half of this year,​” the release further shared.  

The MINISO x Barbie collection is only available in-store at four US MINISO locations, and retails between $2.99 and $12.99.  

Fragrance brand MOODEAUX announces PunkStar androgenous perfume  

The latest addition to its INTENSENSUAL fragrance collection, PunkStar, combines masculine and feminine scent elements to appeal to virtually any user. Key top fragrance notes for this perfume include fruit like apple, black currant, and raspberry as well as herbals like incense and saffron, middle notes include florals like rose, honeysuckle, cedar leaves, and moss, and key bottom notes include rich scents like vanilla, tonka bean, leather, birch wood, and patchouli.  

Like all MOODEAUX perfumes, PunkStar features no dyes or added water, and it is vegan and cruelty-free. Additionally, the brand’s formulations adhere to the International Fragrance Association and Credo Clean Beauty Standards and do not contain parabens, phthalates, or any commonly known or suspected toxins or endocrine disruptors.  

MOODEAUX’s PunkStar Eau de Parfum retails on the company’s website​ for $98.  

Australian Lük Beautifood launches fusion Lash Nourish mascaras  

Last month, Australian clean beauty brand Lük Beautifood announced the launch of what the brand calls the world’s first fusion mascara formula combining cosmetic mascara application with effective lash care ingredients. Available in black tea and espresso shades, Lash Nourish contains a proprietary wood-derived cellulose polymer complex called CELL-U-LASH as an alternative to synthetic materials like nylon to increase lash volume and length.  

Lash Nourish also contains botanical active ingredients like avocado, argan, and cucumber seed oils to help strengthen and condition healthy lashes. Its ingredients are vegan and cruelty-free, and Lash Nourish’s packaging “utilizes fully recyclable PEFC-approved packaging components, vegetable-based printing dyes, and TerraCycle friendly hard materials​,” according to a recent product press release.  

Both shades of Lük Beautifood’s Lash Nourish Mascara are available on the company’s website​ and retail for $31.  

K-beauty brand CLE Cosmetics announces latest product Hydro Blot Loose Powder  

On July 20, 2023, K-beauty brand CLE Cosmetics released its Hydro Blot Loose Powder, a setting powder with a blurring effect that uses the brand’s proprietary powder-to-liquid cooling delivery system that sets makeup while moisturizing the skin. The product is formulated with natural mineral clay illite as well as hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid to keep skin soft and shine free with every use.  

Like all CLE Cosmetics products, its Hydro Blot Loose Powder uses non-toxic, vegan ingredients that are phthalate-, paraben-, and cruelty-free and are ethically manufactured. This formulation is indicated for all skin types, and can be used on dry, sensitive, or mature skin as well.  

CLE Cosmetics Hydro Blot Loose Powder is now available on the company’s website​ and retails for $35.  

Indie hair care brand milk_shake drops pink lemonade shampoo and conditioner  

Capitalizing on the colored hair trend, indie hair care brand milk_shake has announced its latest product duo: pink lemonade shampoo and conditioner. These gentle color-enhancing products are formulated with milk proteins and grapefruit extracts for a nourishing and cleansing experience and contain pink color pigments to tint hair with a fun summery pink hue.  

These products are best suited for light blond hair types, and the intensity of the pink tones can be controlled by how much product is applied and the length of time the product is left on the hair strand before rinsing. In a few washes, the hair takes on a temporary pink tone that is perfect for the summer months (or the wildly popular Barbie trend!)

Poppy & Pout breaks out the Sunny Daze Vegan Lip Balm Gift Set  

Indie lip care brand Poppy & Pout has launched its Sunny Daze Vegan Lip Balm Gift Set in time for the scorching summer heat. The set includes Pina Colada, Raspberry Limeade, and Banana Cream Lip Balms, each hand crafted using 100% natural ingredients to nourish lips that can dry out in the hot summer sun.  

Each lip balm is formulated with ethically sourced beeswax or sunflower wax, organic coconut oil, sunflower oil, essential oils and natural flavors, and vitamin E to hydrate lips and keep them soft and supple.
