This year’s event will be held from November 19 – 20 and will feature a host of industry experts who will all be presenting on subjects that are closely interconnected with this theme.
Now entering its fifth year, the Summit will again be taking place in London, at the 5 Star Leonardo Royal Hotel, which is right by Tower Bridge, in the very heart of London.
Formulating for the Conscious Consumer
The programme focuses on providing a comprehensive presentation line up, as well as the all-important networking opportunities all tied into the cohesive theme of “Formulating for the Conscious Consumer”.
Moderated by Dr. Barbara Brockway, director of personal care at Applied DNA Sciences, the programme will kick off with a marketing trends and opportunities presentation, which will be given be Vivienne Rudd, director of global innovation and insight for beauty and personal care at Mintel.
The two-day presentation programme has been divided into four tracks. Day 1 will be devoted to “good for the body” and “good for the body and planet”, while day two will be divided into “good for the planet” and “good for the mind”.
Presentations to look out for
Speaker highlights will include a presentation titled ‘Formulation practices for microbiota-friendly products: how to meet conscious consumer needs?’, given by Marie Drago, the founder of Gallinée, which will tap into the huge trend for microbiome-targeted skin care.
Paolo Camattari, senior chemist at leading direct sales cosmetics player Oriflame will be hitting on one of the biggest conundrums for formulators in his presentation entitled, ‘Less is more: is it possible to formulate efficacious without necessary ingredients?’
Moving to the final day of the presentations, one of the highlights will be the last session, which will explore emotions in cosmetics, underscored by a presentation give by John Jimenez, senior exploration scientist at Belcorp, titled ‘The psychology of neurocosmetics: How to measure the pleasure of cosmetics?’
