Henkel: the multinational’s personal care performance 2019 so far
Henkel rewards its suppliers for ‘outstanding contributions’
Earlier this year, the company recognized its top suppliers for their best-in-class performance in 2018 at the 2019 American Cleaning Institute (ACI) Annual Meeting and Industry Convention.
The joint winner of the “Sustainability Award” from Henkel Beauty Care and Laundry & Home Care was Plastic Bank. The social enterprise received the prize in recognition of its novel social plastic model for plastic recycling and waste reduction
Evonik received the Beauty Care award as “Best Innovation Contributor” for its microplastic-free opacifier, used in Henkel’s Fa brand.
The winner of the second prize were Croda for Venusceane, a deep-sea active substance with excellent scalp care properties used in Schwarzkopf Beology hair care products, and Symrise, for its preservative booster SymOcide PT that helps to partially replace conventional preservative systems. Henkel Beauty Care launches 100% recycled plastic packaging
The company announced its launch of 100% recycled plastic product packaging, of which 50% is ‘social plastic’ across specific products within its offering.
Across two special editions of shampoo and shower gel from its brands Fa and Nature Box, Henkel is using packaging bottles made of recycled plastic in Germany, with the company stating the first products involved will hit the market in June.
The products will be dubbed "Meeres Glück" from Nature Box and "Meeres Liebe" from Fa. With this latest effort, Henkel Beauty Care is continuing its support for the initiative led by Plastic Bank, which is committed to fighting Ocean Plastic while reducing poverty. Read our full report here.
Schwarzkopf Million Chances Award now open for entries
Following its launch last year, the Schwarzkopf Million Chances Award will again be presented in 2019.
The prize is awarded by the brand to projects that support female empowerment. The long term goal is to give women and girls the same advantages and opportunities as boys and men have.
To encourage this and motivate others, the Schwarzkopf Million Chances Award, worth a total of 40,000 euros, is now entering its second round
In 2018, four initiatives were given the Million Chances Award of the Schwarzkopf brand for the first time. The Desert Flower Foundation around Waris Dirie, Girl's Day, the association Social Business Women and Frauen in Bewegung.
