FCE Cosmetique show director highlights future innovation
This year’s FCE Cosmetique will have a distinct focus on the industry innovations of the future when it opens its doors in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from May 21st to 23rd, at the Sao Paulo Expo.

Cosmetics Design caught up with Diego de Carvalho, head portfolio director at NürnbergMesse Brasil and director of the event, to find out about the highlights of this year’s event.

Our editorial team will be present at the event, to capture all of the highlights, and in this question and answer interview de Carvalho explains about the show’s focus, what kind of exhibitors will be there this year and the sort of trends being platformed.

What are the main aims of this year’s show?

This year we intend to introduce the innovation and technologies of the cosmetic industry, focusing on the innovation of the industry of the future. A major theme we will address this year is industry 4.0 and how it is contributing to the development and future of the cosmetic industry. We will showcase this in the attractions of the event, as well as our lecture grid, Congress and our Talk SCIENCE arena.

What sort of exhibitors have you attracted to the show this year?

Our exhibitors contemplate all segments of the cosmetic production chain. Our exhibitor list ranges from companies in segments such as packaging, supplies, machinery, logistics, fragrances, accessories and services and outsourcing. In all, there are more than 550 exhibiting brands presenting novelties at the event.

What kind of visitors are you expecting to attract to the show? What kind of visitor number

Our visitors are industry professionals, mostly in the areas of purchasing and R & D, with 65% participating in the purchasing processes of companies that operate and 40% of management position. In our last edition we received 16,224 visitors and we expect an increase of 10% in 2019.

What are the main industry trends that the show will be embracing this year?

Of the rising trends in the cosmetics industry, we will talk a lot about natural and sustainable cosmetics, a niche will be worth $ 25 billion by 2025, all over the world.

In Brazil, these products still correspond to a very segmented market, but that shows good prospects for the next five years, an estimated growth between 5% and 10%. Personalization of cosmetics is also on the rise, with industries adapting and investing to create products that meet the different characteristics of their consumers.

Another issue we will address is the digitization and automation of industries and how to adapt these new technologies to their business, regardless of the format.

FCE Cosmetique is one of the biggest events in the annual calendar for the Latin American cosmetics and personal care industry, attracting exhibitors and visitors from all over the region and globally, with a focus on ingredients, packaging and related equipment.
