This year the event featured country Pavilions for Peru, Colombia and Brazil, while other Latin American countries being represented included Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Argentina.
The region has been making a bigger and bigger mark on the industry in recent years, particularly on the back of natural ingredients sourced from the Amazon region, and also thanks to the growing success of larger sized Brazilian ingredient providers such as Beraca, Chemyunion and Aqia.
Chemyunion makes a splash
Chemyunion is one of the biggest ingredients players in the Latin American region and in recent years it has been upping its focus on international markets, particularly growing its supply to the North American market.
This year the company was promoting a raft of new ingredients and solutions to target the hair care market, which in the company's native Brazil, is also one of the biggest markets for this category in the world.
Cosmetics Design also caught up with Chemyunion CEO Marcelo Golino, who explained about how the company has had to adapt its offerings for the North American market. This interview will appear in Cosmetics Design USA very soon!
