Silgan Dispensing focuses on speed to market to meet ongoing customisation trend
The packaging player, which specialises in design, development and distribution of pumps and sprayers for the beauty industry, has announced the launch of its news XpresService for fragrance and skin care, which looks to reduce speed to market for a more agile beauty business landscape.

We caught up with Sandy Gregory, Associate Marketing Director, for the company, who explained that the company’s new XpresService concept includes various efforts to streamline their service.

For example, it features limited ranges of cap and pump neck colours, along with in-house etching capabilities, meaning that customisation on small product runs is now possible and order fulfilment time is greatly reduced.

Gregory suggests companies big and small can see up to six weeks off lead times, in some instances, which can represent a third of the overall product development time.

“XpresService for Fragrance and Skincare is our way of being agile, flexible and quick in reducing the time to market for our partners’ new launches and accelerating their lead time for replenishment orders,” the company explains.

“Our fragrance and skincare customers can expect reliable and easy solutions to help them meet their time-to-market needs.”

Post-consumer recycled materials: sustainable packaging focus

Silgan Dispensing was one of several major packaging suppliers for the beauty and personal care industry at the recent ADF&PCD show which were exhibiting their latest efforts with post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials.

For example, Silgan Dispensing was showcasing its Mark VII® Max, a fine-mist sprayer with applications for sun car products, which is one of the items in its PCR range.

“We pride ourselves on understanding the ever-evolving consumer and customer landscape. By combining our expertise with consumer research and market insights, we create solutions that embolden our customers, and in turn, make life easier for consumers,” said John Ferro, marketing vice president of Silgan Dispensing.

“We’re excited to showcase how our latest technologies create a better dispensing experience.”

Packaging players are under increasing scrutiny from consumers, regulators and manufacturing customers alike to offer increasingly sustainable plastic packaging solutions. PCR materials offers one option in this area.
