Family is a key part of the global Estée Lauder Companies business story and important to the company’s Aerin Beauty brand in particular. Aerin Lauder’s eponymous venture is a luxury lifestyle brand with product lines in beauty, fragrance, fashion, and home décor. But this is a whole new category.

This month, the Janie and Jack children’s fashion brand announced a limited-edition collection made in collaboration with Aerin Lauder’s brand.

Lifestyle brands like hers take in to consideration a consumer’s full everyday experience, preferences, and way of living. This diversifies a brand across categories and industries but it can also serve to build loyal customers in a world that is increasingly fickle.

And it's worth noting that, especially in the current entrepreneurial movement, businesses are getting more collaborative and building alliances to benefit consumers, companies, and communities.

Familial

For the clothing brand, it’s an infusion of the Aerin sense of style: “We are very excited to debut our collaboration with iconic tastemaker Aerin Lauder,” Shelly Walsh, SVP and general manager of Janie and Jack, tells the press. “Aerin inspires so many with her beautiful, modern and refined style, and we are thrilled for Janie and Jack to be her partner for her first collection of clothing and accessories for children.”

For Lauder, it’s another infusion of family into the business story:  “I've always admired Janie and Jack's point of view on children's fashion. Fun, modern and playful,” remarks Lauder in Janie and Jack’s media release about the collection. “Being a mother of two, I've always been drawn to the children's industry and I am very excited to be launching this playful collaboration.”

Aspirational

The AERIN x Janie and Jack collection comprises 60+ items (clothing, accessories, and shoes). Sizes 0-3 months through 6 will be sold in store; larger sizes will be available online only. The collection also includes décor items, or “keepsake gifts” such as silver cups and frames.

The clothing can all be described as resort wear, done in pastel shades and including swimsuits and trunks, sandals, sun glasses, hats, etc.
