Gattefossé has been audited and certified for its design, development, manufacture, marketing and sales of oleochemical excipients and plant derived products, designed for personal care applications.

The management system of Gattefossé SAS, headquarter based in Saint Priest, France, has been successful in the recent audit by SGS certification body, which has found it requirements of ISO 9001: 2015

Gattefossé says this certification is part of an ongoing improvement strategy to meet the needs of customers and those of other key stakeholders, and to comply with expected quality standards.

This management and continuous improvement approach involves maintaining the systems already in place, monitoring and constantly updating objectives to seek out better performance at every level within the company,” explains Gattefossé.

What is ISO 9001, and why does it matter for the beauty industry?

ISO 9001:2015 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and can be used by any company or organisation, large or small, regardless of industry or secort.

According to the ISO, using ISO 9001:2015 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits.

When it comes to beauty, it is an industry that depends perhaps more than most on consumer trust and the quality of its products to generate that trust.

Meeting standards like the ISO 9001:2015 shows that industry players, across the supply chain, are holding themselves to top level standards when it comes to manufacture and quality management.

Gattefossé’s reasons for obtaining the certification

This version of the standard, published in September 2015, reinforces the value of a company’s strategy in its approach to quality, integrating risk analyses for all processes, as well as analyzing opportunities, while taking the external environment into account.

The quality policy is in line with the strategic axes of Gattefossé. It sets management's direction for quality and provides a framework for determining the company's objectives," explains Jean-Pierre Laforet, Group Director of Industrial Operations at Gattefossé.
