in-cosmetics Global: preparations underway

Previously defined as the in-cosmetics event focused on European ingredients suppliers, the newly rebranded in-cosmetics Global is gearing up to its grand opening in London.

The event will have a lot of live up to, as last year’s event in Paris was the largest to date, but as it is the first time in 15 the team at Reed Exhibitions is setting its sights on breaking some new records.

Held 4 – 6 of  April, the event will take place at the ExCel events space, which is in the Docklands, just to the East of the City of London, one of the world’s biggest financial hubs.

The organizer says that this year more than 9,000 visitors from over 100 countries are expected to travel to London for the event to interact and network with more than 800 international suppliers who will be on the show floor.

“We’re delighted to be returning to London next year and are bringing a programme that will meet the requirements of the global personal care market. In particular, we’re looking forward to introducing the new Make-up Bar where visitors can test more ingredients and identify some of the most innovative techniques in colour cosmetics,” said Cathy Laporte, exhibition director for in-cosmetics Global.

All about make-up

Each annual in-cosmetics event in Europe has traditionally had key themes that have highlighted some of the industry’s biggest trends. This year the focus will be on make-up.

Tapping into industry-leading growth in the colour cosmetics category, in-cosmetics Global will be launching a number of new concepts in this area.

Those concepts will be platformed by the first ever Make-Up Bar, which will give attendees a look in on some of the most advanced functional ingredients and technologies to target this category.

Innovations will include prototype formulas for lips, eyes, nails and skin, giving finished product manufacturers and developers a window in to the type of solutions they might be incorporating into future product launches.

Sustainability corner and education

On top of the Make-up Bar, there will also be the addition of Sustainability Corner, another new feature aimed at flagging up the latest developments in this crucial area.

This area will see leading suppliers showcasing their latest sustainability initiatives that are all ultimately aimed at reducing the carbon footprint for businesses.

And sustainability will also be playing a crucial part in the educational programme, which this year will include more than 100 hours of sessions.

The conference programme is still being firmed up by the Reed team, but the first presentations are expected to be firmed up in the course of the next few months.

Formulation Lab, technical seminars and workshops

Meanwhile, the success of the Formulation Lab, which has now been rolled out at all five in-cosmetics events is assured, particularly as the Reed team says the sessions for 2017 are already sold out.

Ingredient companies who will be highlighting their latest formulation advances in the Formulation Lab sessions will include Akzo Nobel, Lonza, Nordmann Rassmann and Symrise.

Technical seminars and workshops will also be playing an important part of the educational programme, with seminar topics including ‘Rejuvenation through Marine Glycobiology Science’ and ‘Natural Alternatives for Emulsification using Oil Technology’, while workshops will focus on regulatory and science updates.
