Estée Lauder has announced a series of new executive appointments that focus on the company’s continued focus on digital engagement worldwide.

The two appointments include Damon Burrell, who has joined the company as senior vice president of corporate marketing and Anna Klein, who has been appointed to the position of vice president of corporate affairs.

Burrell took up his position on April 11th and will report to Georgia Garinois-Melenikiotou, executive vice president of corporate marketing, while Klein is set to take up her appointment on July 1st and will report to Alexandra Trower, executive vice president of global communications.

Focusing on strategic areas of digital engagement

Burrell’s appointment aims to drive the group’s evolution in the digital-first arena, which is a crucial area for business development as it taps into the younger and more digitally savvy consumers.

The Millennial generation has been the driving force behind this development, with its increasing spending power and high-level of digital engagement, but now as oldest of the Generation Z turns 21, this generation is becoming increasingly important as they are even more digitally focused.

Burrell’s role will be to continue to advance the company’s digital momentum through heightened consumer engagement capabilities across all branding points and retail channels.

He brings almost 20 years of experience from diverse marketing disciplines, and has defined his career as an early adopted of digital and social media. His previous position was at Viacom as senior vice president.

Meeting the need for enhanced global communications

Klein’s appointment will see her expand her responsibilities with the company to include oversight of corporate communication across all regions, where she will be working closely with the regional leadership teams.

Her focus will include accelerating global communications strategy to further align business priorities, manage issues, enable risk mitigation, and identify areas of opportunity to continue advancing ELC and its brands, the company says.

Klein has progressed in the global communications team by taking on increasing levels of responsibility, which has included leading a number of enterprise-wide strategies, culminating in the creation of the company’s first full-length corporate responsibility report.
