The multinational product maker is relocating staff in advance of closing its deal with Coty.

120 workers are being relocated within Ohio to new offices in the town of Blue Ash. The group will be functioning as a sort of separate specialty beauty company for a stint.

P&G spokesman Damon Jones tells the press that finance, logistics, and other professionals involved in the move work in fine fragrance, color cosmetics, and hair care.

Soon to be Coty

The employees that are relocating will soon work for Coty, as the brands they support change hands. And that’s good news for the regional economy.

“We're excited for the region in general that Coty will keep some of these jobs here in Greater Cincinnati and not move them all to New York City,” Neil Hensley, economic development director for the city of Blue Ash, tells the press.

Timeline

The new offices are scheduled to open this summer. And, the workers will be transferred incrementally in July or August, reports Tom Demeropolis in the Cincinnati Business Courier.

It’s a winning arrangement for Ohio. “Adding these jobs that will transition to Coty fits in with the city's strategy of working to attract more regional offices for consumer goods companies,” Hensley tells Demeropolis.

P&G is making the transfer to Coty simpler for itself in the process. Northmark Business Center II, where the new offices will be, is actually a facility that P&G built as part of the Duracell divesture.

P&G’s deal with Coty is expected to be completed in the second half of the year.
