Symrise strengthens European salesforce to address cosmetic market complexities
As the market for cosmetic applications has become more complex Symrise says it is reinforcing its strategic sales positions in the EMEA region with two experts to service its customers with a targeted approach.

The new approach will see Andreas R. Hofmann become Regional Sales Director Cosmetic Ingredients, while Marie-Laure Roumiguière will assume the position as Head of Global Account Management EAME.

The ingredient supplier says this decision has been made because the market for cosmetic applications, skin and personal care, UV protection, oral care and the fragrance industry has increased in complexity, and so have the customer structures in the segment.

Newly created roles

Symrise newly created the regional sales role for Hofmann so that he can manage strategy, turnover, growth and success with Cosmetic Ingredients customers in Germany, Austria, Swiss, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Benelux.

He joins the company having obtained his diploma in Business Chemistry and starting his professional career with Beiersdorf, where he spent 7.5 years in various positions from raw materials to purchasing and account management.

He joins directly from German biochemical company Pharma Waldhof, and Dr Daniel Ibarra, Vice President EAME Cosmetic Ingredients Division, at Symrise, says his background in chemistry and business admin will aid this new role.

“Andreas brings profound knowledge in operational processes and tasks along the supply chain, from both a big company as well as medium-sized enterprises,” he says.

“Complemented by his experience of collaborating within the Cosmetic Ingredients business we are convinced that Andreas will give valuable impulses to our business and its further development.”

Strategy

Marie-Laure Roumiguière will also take up a newly created position for Symrise based in Paris, where she will be in charge for the overall Global Account Strategy in the region as well as the global roll out of these decisions and actions.

She holds a degree in chemistry and formulations and has a strong background in the cosmetic market having held roles as Business Development Manager for Pharma & Personal Care at Cargill, and at IMCD where she was Commercial Manager of the Pharmaceutical & Personal Care business unit for 10 years.

Like Hofmann, Roumiguière will report to Ibarra, who says Symrise looks forward to her strategic contributions within the Cosmetic Ingredients Strategic Team.
