The center, officially inaugurated on September 11th, features a 'state-of-the-art' personal care laboratory which the France-based active ingredients supplier says reinforces the activity of its affiliate, Gattefossé India.

The facility is expected to drive research and formulation and act as a 'technical interface' for customers throughout India.

According to Gattefossé, significant growth in the country, overseen by Mr Sunil Bambarkar has warranted the expansion.

At its official opening earlier in the month, attendees included group chairman Mr Jacques Moyrand, Mr Agit Singh, Chairman, AGC Worldwide Associated Capsule and Mr Yves Perrin, The Consul General of France.

According to Olivier Midler, CEO of Gattefossé group; the strategy going forward will be to focus on innovation by pursuing investments in R&D and product applications as well as developing the business in new territories.

"All these efforts are to ensure our customers a responsive and adapted service specific to their markets,” says Midler.

Increasing its Asia Pacific presence...

The France-based active ingredients supplier has been ramping up its presence in Asia Pacific for some years now, honing in on ingredients that treat blemishes and oily skin.

Oily and combination skin is a problem that affects many individuals in the region and one that is often exacerbated by the hot and humid weather condition and the many tropical and sub-tropical parts of the region.

In this area, Gattefossé's experts have also identified the fact this type of skin is also susceptible to be dull, with open, visible pores, leading to an uneven and blotchy complexion.

To target these skin problems and help to improve the complexion, the company launched Cytobiol Iris A2 in 2013, which combines a purifying iris extract with seboregulator vitamin A and zinc salt.

According to Gattefossé, the combination of these three active ingredients ‘purifies the skin, reducing comedones and blocked pores, which in turns reduces the main symptoms for a blotchy skin, ultimately leading to a clearer complexion.

The company also says that its trials have shown that whiteheads, blackheads and inflammatory lesions such as spots and pimples are reduced, giving a clear comedolytic which is said to have been confirmed by a dermatologist.
