The in-cosmetics events have taken two top awards at the AEO Excellence Awards 2014 – one for best overseas tradeshow, the other for best overall tradeshow.

Organiser Reed Exhibitions bagged Best Overseas Tradeshow in the over 2,000 square metre floor space category, as well as the Best Tradeshow Exhibition Overall, also for events over 2,000 square metre floor space.

The UK-based AEO Excellence Awards combines both entries for trade shows held in the UK and internationally, and covers more than 15 categories, which also include consumers events, marketing campaign and organiser team of the year.

The in-cosmetics brand has been developed significantly during more than 20 years, having started off as a European-only event, and subsequently being expanded to include two Asian event – held annually in Bangkok and Seoul, and a new Latin American event, to be held in Sao Paulo for the first time this September.

The biggest ever in-cosmetics event was held in Paris in April 2013, while this year’s event was held in Hamburg, Germany, continuing the tradition of relocating to the event to a different city every year. 

The event platforms some of the biggest players in the industry, including specialty chemical and ingredients players such as BASF, DSM, Croda, Lubrizol, Lonza and Dow Chemical.

Event recognised for ‘high quality’

“Every marketing channel was exploited to promote the event and at the show itself there was content, content, content! Great result including an impressive growth in exhibitors,”​ a spokesperson for AEO noted.

Cathy Laporte, in-cosmetics exhibition manager has been the driving force behind the development, growth and increasing popularity of the show, which attracts increasingly larger numbers of exhibitors, visitors and a growing conference segment each year.

“The team has worked very hard to grow the show year-on-year and each year we add new content to ensure it addresses the latest trends and updates in the industry,”​ Laporte said.

“The feedback we have from visitors and exhibitors has been fantastic and we’re excited about the prospects for the 2015 show which takes place in Barcelona on 14-16 April.”
