Cosmetics contract manufacturer Joko has changed its to Nuco, a move its says reflects the fact that it has re-focused its business strategy through increasing its footprint in the R&D area.

The company was established 20 years ago and has built a reputation as a contract manufacturing partner for cosmetic and personal care companies, but the name change is said to reflect the growing role it now also plays in innovation.

According to Grzegorz Wyrzykowski, sales and marketing director at NUCO, the “NU” part of the business reflects its strengthened R&D operations, which has also served to grow the company and its offerings to the industry.

Company repositions itself as a turnkey contract manufacturer

“The colour cosmetics industry has never been as dynamic as it has become in recent years. It means new products are launched all the time and innovations are expected to go to market at incredible speed to meet the ever growing expectations of consumers,” said Wyrzykowski.

The fact that the company has grown its R&D operations establishes it as a turnkey player, allowing it to give its customers, particularly in the small- to medium-sized business category, more comprehensive support.

Headquartered in Warsaw, the company says that the development builds on its pledge to offer state-of-the art solutions that are focused on getting innovative colour cosmetics solutions to market as fast as possible.

Colour cosmetics is about speed to market

In the colour cosmetics category speed to market is particularly pressing, because this category is trends and fashion-based, which means that new colours and effects are being constantly updated.

With this in mind, the company has invested heavily in its on-site R&D facilities, while also upgrading the machinery in its adjoining manufacturing facilities.

“With two modern production plants and laboratories, new dynamic R&D department, new automated machines for back/front injection and expanded warehouse space, we are ready to face the challenges of the most demanding brand owners,” said Wyrzykowski.

Looking to the future, the company says it has further plans for expansion, with plans to build a new assembly shop, as well further ambitions to intensify its QA and R&D processes.
