US packaging company Topline Products has teamed up with French perfume company Carven to create a stylish floral fragrance cap to raise the profile of its latest product launch.

Topline Products was contracted by Carven’s parent company Bogart Group to create a designer cap for the company’s new fragrance product “Carven Le Parfum.”

A spokesperson from Topline said: “We have been working with Parfum Bogart for a number of years with a number of different products, and this was our opportunity to create a specific piece for them.”

"For this design, the inner PP cap enables airtight function and a zanak ring decorates the neck as a jewel."

Carven Le Parfum was exclusively launched in May 2013 at UK department story Harrods, and rolled out internationally from mid-july.

High-fashion packaging

The ring at the top of the package is zanak plated with gold, described as "high fashion," while the bottle itself is made of two layers of SURLYN, an artificial form of glass.

Topline PR manager Harry McBrien said: "The ‘haute couture’ appearance of the Topline cap adds a sophisticated touch to the stylish simplicity of the Carven Le Parfum frosted glass bottle."

The new scent was created by the perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, while the bottle and packaging excluding the top were designed by Thierry de Baschmakoff.

Carven

This French perfume and cologne company was founded in 1945, initially as a fashion and cosmetics organization which catered to a niche audience of petite women. The firm was purchased by Bogart Group in 2010 for an undisclosed sum.

Carven called the new perfume a “fresh, floral fragrance, with key selling points being “Simplicity, freshness and charm.” The fragrance is described as containing the scents Jasmine, Ylang Ylang and Sweet Pea.
