The Germany-based company has appointed a new head of its European personal-care division, in an effort it says to hone the unit’s focus.

Jan-Peter Sander has taken up the role of senior vice president of personal care in Europe, succeeding Simon Medley, who is said to be leaving to “pursue his career outside the group.”

In his new position, the new vp will be responsible for areas including manufacturing, supply chain, technology, marketing and sales whilst also ensuring BASF's business strategy continues to be successfully implemented in the future.

Sander, a trained import-export merchant, has been with the company for 25 years, initially joining the company as marketing and product manager in 1987, before holding executive-level positions at various BASF operating divisions in both Germany and abroad.

Ilook forward to building on the excellent work which has been done in driving forward the unit’s strategy,” says Sander. “We will continue to establish BASF in the personal care industry by focusing on anticipating customers’ current and future requirements and providing the market with innovation-driven solutions.”
