At the recent HBA Expo in New York, CosmeticsDesign caught up with Karen Young, CEO of The Young Group to discuss relevance of sensory connection in cosmetics products.

Young explained what sensory connection meant for cosmetics products and how it is an important factor in a consumer’s experience with a product.

With so much competition in the market, the touch and feel of a product can play a big part in whether a consumer decides to repurchase or not.

Young explained that these ‘sensates’ can dictate to a consumer what kind of product they are using and that for formulators and manufacturers it can almost be as important as the ingredients themselves.
