Switzerland-based ingredients provider Verdan has launched a patented deodorant spray based on crystal and aimed at the private label category.

Described as a natural solution to help prevent body odours, the new spray formula is aimed at private label manufacturers wanting to expand their deodorant product line with a formulation that claims to go on clear and does not cause excess residues.

Equally important is the fact that the formula taps into the ever-growing trend for natural personal care products, a factor that is particularly pertinent in the deodorant category, where fears over exposure to aluminium in deodorant formulas is driving demand for alternatives.

The new spray formula combines micronizing Kalunite minerals, which are said to help achieve a higher concentration of active ingredients on the sprayed area, guaranteeing maximum efficacy.

Mineral crystal boosts odour absorption

This efficacy is further enhanced by mineral crystals that are said to absorb body odours without leaving any oily residue, often associated with leaving telltale stains on clothing.

Verdan has been manufacturing crystal deodorant for over thirty years and now offers an extensive portfolio of products that includes a deodorant stone and a crystal deodorant stick in a push-up applicator.

“Now, by launching our patented natural deodorant spray for private labeling, customers can have an upscale natural deodorant under their brand of choice,” said Verdan company founder Francis Verdan.

Partnership to expand distribution

Last month the company announced a partnership with a global marketing service DKSH Group to distribute its raw material, Kalunite potassium alum, worldwide.

The ingredients and formulation supplier has seen its crystal deodorant declared effective in 24 hours by the Dermscan Group via clinical tests, and is now looking to expand globally.

Kalunite was recently validated and approved by Ecocert to be used as a raw material in the formulation of cosmetics certified according to the Natural and Organic Ecocert standards.

Kalunite’s Ecocert approval signifies that the powder is traceable to its natural source, free from all synthetics and therefore permitted in Ecocert certified products.
