Packaging company LF of America will be showcasing its new roller ball unit-dose package for cosmetics products at packaging show WestPack early next month.

The Angel is a 1 ml container with a roller ball dispenser that has been designed to take products such as eye contour or lip treatments, a spokesperson for the company explained.

LF America, a subsidiary of Italian headquartered Lameplast, developed the packaging in the second half of 2010 and a pilot line is now ready, according to the spokesperson.

Lameplast and LF of America are looking for a partner to commercialize the product, the spokesperson added.

Five unit strips

The 1 ml containers are made out of polypropylene and come in strips of five units, which can be customized by the brand.

According to the company, they can be virtually any color, can have metal or plastic roller balls and can be labelled or pad printed.

LF of America will be showcasing The Angel, so named as its wings bear a resemblance to those of an angel, at the West Pack show in Anaheim on February 8 – 10.

The company will also be launching a new multi-layer unit-dose container which has good barrier properties later this year, which it says will be a perfect choice for personal care containers.
