3Rx Skin Therapy is preparing the launch of a new skin care range developed to repair and relieve dry skin compromised by treatments for cancer such as chemotherapy and radiation, as well as other dry skin issues caused by medical conditions.

The skin care company, which works with various worldwide cancer institutes as well as national organisations in its native North America, developed the skin rejuvenation products in order to help restore damaged skin to its natural look and feel.

“Treatments for cancer, such as radiation and chemotherapy, can assault the skin’s moisture, making it uncomfortably dry or exceptionally irritated,” said Andy Levenkron, founder at 3Rx.

Designed for dry skin sufferers

“The 3Rx Skin Therapy line was designed especially to help cancer patients and others who suffer from dry skin conditions. Our product helps to restore the skin to its natural state and greatly reduces painful dryness,” he continued.

The range has been developed using 3Rx’s patented technology, HylaSponge System, developed by the Matrix Biology Institute, to provide instant and long-term relief by restoring a natural balance to the skin’s look and feel.

According to 3Rx, the HylaSponge System accomplishes this by acting like a sponge, with the ability to hold 100 times its weight in water. Subsequently, hydration is greater, longer lasting and is said to be more effective for skin care.

3Rx’s co-founder, Desiree Reid also expressed satisfaction at developing a product which she hopes will aid those suffering from dry skin-related medical conditions.

“I was able to bring my personal experience and global cosmetics expertise to create a safe, effective and comforting line of products that offer relief for people who are dealing with dry skin-related challenges,” she said.

January 2011 launch

The initial launch of 3Rx Skin Therapy skin care line, later this month will include three different products aiming to aid in renewing, restoring and rejuvenating damaged skin.

The company is also using social networking sites, Facebook and Twitter, to drum up awareness of the product line, which currently includes a foaming cleanser, daily body cream and targeted serum.
