Unilever: changes to the board of directors

Consumer goods giant Unilever has proposed a new addition to its board of directors which will be voted on in May.

The Anglo-Dutch company is proposing Mr Sunil Bharti Mittal as a non executive director.

According to the chairman of Unilever, Michael Treschow, Bharti Mittal is expected to further strengthen the expertise and independence of the board.

As the founder and CEO of Bharti Enteprises, a telecoms provider operating across 19 Asian and African countries, Bharti Mittal brings experience in developing markets to the Board.
