Lumson supplies packaging for new Korff cosmeceutial foundation

Lumson Cosmetic Packaging has recently finished a collaborative project to supply the new packaging for the latest launch in the colour make-up category from luxury brand Korff.

The Korff fluid foundation, which is called RadianceSkin, is formulated with diamond powder as a feature ingredient, something that gives the product added luminosity and texture, as well as helping to position it at the upper end of the market.

Believed to be the first product of its kind on the market, it is being targeted at the highly prestigious cosmeceuticals market, on account of its scientifically advanced formulation which includes the ingredients hyaluronic acid and retinol.

Anti-aging combined with colour cosmetics

The addition of these ingredients means that the product can be positioned on the market with anti-ageing claims, allowing the product to tap into one of the key growth trends in the cosmetics market.

To reflect its luxury status, Italy-based Lumson had to come up with a packaging design that reflected both the product’s exotic formulation as well as its positioning at the top end of the market.

Lumson was asked by Korff brand owner Istituto Garrassini to provide both the primary decoration for the new product launch, together with the all-important decorations – details that help to position such a product.

Design brief aimed at elegance and luxury

With respect to the design, the packaging company worked around a brief that would reflect the product’s refined, elegant and precious intentions, while embodying the product in a packaging that is trendy, elegant and defined by sophisticated decoration.

This design brief has been embodied in a 30ml glass bottle from Lumson’s Collezione Circus, a dispensing pump for its Smart collection and a specially created overcap that creates what the company refers to as a ‘unibody’ effect.

Additional decorations were also pivotal to the design, and include black hot stamping on a black over cap to enhance the Korff logo, together with a coat of shiny silver hot stamping on the glass bottle to underline the luxury element.
