The conference programme for next week’s Luxe Pack Monaco event will include a must attend symposium concentrating on how to make green packaging pay dividends.

Produced and hosted by the CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com team, the programme will include three experts from different fields in the cosmetics industry who will each give presentations focusing on specific aspects of green packaging.

The hour-long programme, entitled How To Make Green Packaging The Selling Point, will start off with an introduction by the CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com team, followed by the three individual presentations and will then culminate in a round table discussion about the topic.

How to make luxury packaging greener

The first of the speakers will be Bill Omelia, VP of sales for Knoll Packaging. The company has focused its efforts on secondary paper-based packaging for the luxury segment, and has worked with big names such as Estee Lauder.

In his presentation Omelia will focus on how luxury cosmetics packaging has focused on eco-friendly credentials by highlighting its re-use, either for the purpose of refilling, or for an alternative function, such as storage or ornamation.

The second speaker will be Amarjit Sahota, managing director of market research company Organic Monitor, who will be highlighting some of the most eye-catching green packaging currently available in the luxury cosmetics segment.

Trends driving luxury green packaging

The presentation will also clue in on specific trends and will highlight the different designs, materials and concepts that cosmetics companies have undertaken to reduce the carbon footprint for their packaging.

The third presentation will feature Alex Johnson, who will represent London-based sustainability consultancy Clownfish, and will be focusing in on the best approaches to take when considering going green on packaging.

The presentation will also highlight how best to communicate this idea, ultimately focusing on how greener packaging can help to improve the environmental profile of a business, while also attracting more consumers.

The symposium will finish with a round table discussion that will focus on some of the key points raised during the presentations, and will also give the audience a chance to ask specific questions.

The How To Make Green Packaging The Selling Point conference will take place on Friday, October 22nd, at 3.15pm and is scheduled to last one hour.

Attendees to the conference will receive a free green packaging information pack put together by CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com. For more information, please click here.
