Innovative products and future trends highlighted at this year’s Beyond Beauty event in Paris on 12-15 September were embodied in the Beyond Beauty Lab that formed part of the Creative show.

“The Beyond Beauty Lab brings together initiatives to look at future trends,” David Bondi, CEO of ITEC France told CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com. “We have partnerships with Mintel Beauty Innovation and American Supply, and a special section dedicated to new products from Japan and China,” he added.

Showcasing the latest innovations from the Asian market, the forum Lab focused on five major trends including Maxi/Mini sizes, featuring individual make-up refills that can be snapped together to combine different products and Green Attitude which featured eco-refills and recycled packaging.

Latest advances in anti-ageing and hybrid products

Mintel Beauty Innovation was also present in the Beyond Beauty Lab, and head consultant Nica Lewis gave daily presentations on the latest hybrid beauty products and anti-ageing advances as selected by the Mintel Beauty Innovations team.

Products on display included an anti-ageing mist from Laboratoires Filorga, the ultra-fine droplets of which are claimed to impregnate the epidermis and convey active ingredients to the cells.

The Sculpting Roll-on mask from Guerlain Success Future contains the brand’s patented Pure Amber complex, and is claimed to be the first mask to be applied to the skin using a roll-on applicator.

Beyond Beauty Make-up trends new for 2010

A new feature for 2010 was the Beyond Beauty Makeup trends area, where suppliers and make-up artists explored key trends and allowed visitors to try different products.

The area showcased products such as oh! My Blush by BCM, and a sample size Lips' Kit from French sample packaging company Livcer, a mini make-up palette that contains a lipstick, eye shadow, foundation and a blusher.

A range of space make-up capsules from Catalent was also on display. The DelPouches can be used to release foundation onto a sponge or the capsules can hold lip gloss or eyeshadow which are then twisted in order to apply the product.
