Covering diverse topics including sustainability, trends and e-commerce is the conference programme for this year’s Beyond Beauty show taking place in Paris in September.

Running alongside exhibitions that will feature around 500 companies in the Beauty and Wellness sector, are 45-minute conferences divided into three different series.

The Cosmeeting, Trends and Creative cycles total 53 seminars with over 100 speakers, according to event organizers ITEC France.

Three conference cycles

The Cosmeeting series will cover topics such as emerging brands, distribution, organics and biodiversity, with speakers from Mademoiselle Bio, Thierry Mugler and Beauty Alliance.

The ‘Wake up retailers, the future lies in niche distribution!’ conference will gather experts from niche distribution, including Mission Beauté founder Valerie Vanier, to discuss the future of niche distribution, including advantages, hurdles and sucessful distribution models.

Examining green chemistry, eco-design and sustainably development, with speakers from FEBEA, Chanel and Rexam, is the Creative series.

Greentech’s ‘Green Chemistry’ presentation will cover how the company is engaged in sustainable and fair supply, working with suppliers in Burkina Faso and Peru, and a FEBEA representative will present ‘the raw materials reference card’, an exchange document for manufacturers and suppliers designed to give more information about product ingredients.

The Trends conference series will cover trends in materials, colours and concepts, with speakers from IPSOS, Mintel and Cosmetic Research International.

‘Post crisis luxury’, a presentation from Nelly Rod explores the issues facing the luxury market post-recession. Luxury brands and the use of the internet will be discussed, along with how the traditional ‘luxury’ markets such as Japan and the USA are shifting to encompass emerging markets such as China.

Beyond Beauty is taking place from 15-17 September at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles. For more information visit the Beyond Beauty website.
