Germany-based ingredients provider Cognis says it will showcase a range of natural-based and eco formulations at next month’s SEPAWA congress in Würzburg.

The company says it will use the event to underline the way it develops high-performance personal care ingredients that fulfil the key consumer trend for natural products focussed on wellbeing.

The presentations will include two ‘sets’ – one called Polymer Formulation Set and one named the Green Formulation Set

The Cognis Green Formulation Set will feature a combination of formulations for use in natural cosmetics that also comply with the specific certification requirements of NaTrue and BDIH.

Mapping out 'naturalness'

To underline the ‘naturalness’ of the products in this set, the company will provide a Green Formulation Grid, which will actually plot how natural the formulations are using a grading system.

The Polymer Formulation Set concentrates on the senses, demonstrating a wide range of high-performance polymers with a number of applications for personal care products.

The company will demonstrate two key features of its polymer range, namely an acrylate polymer dispersion for thickening and stabilizing, together with polymers that can render formulations completely clear.

Four brand new formulations

The presentations will include four formulations aimed at the naturals personal care market, together with a cleaning agent for the home care market.

The four new ingredients in the line up will include a high performance O/W emulsifier that is said to be effective at low concentrations, as well as a PEG/EO-free dispersion polymer designed to enhance the sensory profile of a range of skin and hair products.

Likewise the company will also unveil a transparent microemulsion, that is said to fit in with the green trend thanks to its plant-derived materials, together with a wax dispersion that consists of a microlipid system that prevents hair breakage when combined in shampoo formulations.

The 56th SEPAWA congress will take place from October 14 – 16 at the Würzburg Congress Centrum. For registration details, please click here.
