The event will stay in Paris, but this year Beyond Beauty will shift closer to the centre of the city, opening its doors at Porte de Versailles on September 13.

The three day event is being readied amidst a significant downturn in the global economy, circumstances which the event organisers, ITEC France, say will have a significant impact on the format.

ITEC events director David Bondi says that Beyond Beauty 2009 is being organised around ‘a strategy of optimised investment for companies’ given the current economic challenges.

Concentrating on the essentials

“In times of crisis, every company needs to focus on what’s essential, and Beyond Beauty Paris concentrates the key points of the beauty sector,” Bondi said.

This year the event has moved from its traditional home, at the Parc des Exposition exhibition centre in Villepinte, North West of Paris, to Porte de Versailles, a more central location that underlines the organisor’s aim to be as cutting edge as possible.

The basic structure of this year’s event will focus on three individual exhibitions, a series of talks, workshops and summits, which will all be focusing on key themes and trends currently driving the industry.

Natural & Bio, Cosmeeting and Zoom

Cosmeeting will be focusing, as ever, on the latest beauty concepts and trends, highlighting the very latest the industry has to offer.

Likewise the Zoom space will feature some of the younger and emerging brands to hit the industry – an area that has traditionally given rise to some of the most innovative and fresh concepts.

No cosmetic and personal care event would be complete without focusing on the ubiquitous and ever-growing organic and naturals trend, highlighted by the event’s Natural & Bio space, which will show the latest brands and products to rise from this category.

Beauty Challenger Awards

The Beauty Challenger Awards will also give credit to some of the most innovative products on show at the event, with three separate awards to recognize the most credit-worthy launches.

Tying in with the awards is the Creative section, which will include around 250 participants highlighting innovation and product development in packaging, private label and formulation.

The event will also host a series of free talks and debates covering the most pressing topics currently facing both suppliers and manufacturers within the segment.

The contents of the talks and debates, together with other details on the comprehensive conference programme, will be revealed closer to the start of the event.
